How to Choose the Perfect Las Vegas Wedding Photo Location for Your Day
Choosing where to take your wedding photos in Las Vegas is about more than just picking a pretty backdrop. The right location shapes the entire feel of your images and plays a big role in how your day flows. From the energy of the Strip to quiet desert landscapes, each setting offers something completely different. As you start narrowing down your options, there are a few key things to keep in mind that will help you choose a location that feels effortless, looks incredible, and truly reflects you.
Factor 1:

Wedding Vibes
One of the most important factors that will shape where we go for your wedding photos is the overall vibe of your day. Your location should feel like a natural extension of your story, not just a backdrop. For example, couples who love that bold, vintage Vegas energy are often drawn to Fremont Street at night when the neon lights are glowing and the city feels alive, while those dreaming of something softer and more romantic usually gravitate toward golden hour in the desert, where everything feels warm, quiet, and cinematic.
Factor 2:

Weather & Lighting
Start with your Las Vegas wedding inspiration, then bring the desert weather into the conversation, because it plays a bigger role than most couples expect. The light here is stunning but strong, and in the summer temperatures often climb well above 100 degrees with clear skies and very little shade, making midday photos feel intense. Taking a moment to look up average weather and sunset times can completely transform your experience, helping you choose a timeline that gives you softer light, more comfortable temperatures, and photos that feel effortless instead of rushed. Trust me, you will be much happier planning for a golden hour session rather than finding yourself at Red Rock Canyon at 2 pm in the middle of August.
Factor 3:

Travel Logistics
Another important thing to consider when choosing your Las Vegas wedding photo locations is travel logistics. Las Vegas may look compact on a map, but the experience can change quickly depending on distance, traffic, and timing between spots. Some locations are perfectly paired together, while others can eat into your photo time more than you expect. Planning a thoughtful route helps keep your day relaxed and allows you to spend more time actually taking photos instead of being in transit. When your locations are chosen with flow in mind, everything feels smoother, more intentional, and much more enjoyable from start to finish.
Factor 4:

Permits & Reservations
One important thing to know when planning wedding photos in Las Vegas is that most casinos on the Strip do not allow professional outside photography on their property without special permission or paid sessions. Security can often ask photographers to move along, which is the last thing you want to deal with on your wedding day. That is exactly why I typically take my couples for casino-style photos to Fremont Street instead. It has that same iconic, vintage Vegas feel with neon lights, energy, and character, but without the restrictions, so we can focus on creating great images without interruptions.

My Favorite locations for dreamy, vintage wedding photos

bars in the arts district
Truly my favorite stop on any wedding/elopement day is going to Fremont street and getting pictures at all of my favorite spots like the El Cortez, the Plaza for the lights, and the never-ending neon signs all over. Walkable (but wear comfy shoes!) and best done during weekdays, this wedding photo location is always busy & bustling.
Fremont street
Places like the Dustland, Cornish Pasty, and Dark Sister are all gorgeous bars with really fun menus! The arts district is where most locals go for fun, and most bars are decorated in a retro or fun vintage style that will really elevate any photo!
The Neon museum
Truly this is the ultimate Las Vegas wedding photo location. Being surrounded by neon lights, the ability to blend bright editorial with soft vintage glamour really shines here. This location offers late night photo walks monthly, where the price to enter is $75 (or $50 or locals) and you have an hour to take photos in the neon boneyard.
